May 2023 - The Tomahawk Historical Society received a STAR Foundation grant for $1,900 for purchasing office equipment to aid in digitizing old media and files to help preserve and share our local history.
May 2023 -- We are super excited to announce that we will be filling a grant for a total of $1,500 to the new Competition Cheer team! These ladies have been working so hard to fundraise money for mats to be able to host cheer competitions in Tomahawk and make for safer practices. We are so happy to be able to support them and we can’t wait to see what the future brings for this passionate team!

April 2023 - $1000 The STAR Foundation contributed to the purchase of a laser engraver for the Elementary School. Students will be able to use the laser engraver through their elementary years. This machine will be able to continue to be an asset for many years as the students continue through the STEM program. As the students continue to develop their design skills, they will be able to become more independent with the designing and creating on the laser engraver. Pages from a book are converted into signs that are laid out around a park or along a trail. DATE: 2023 RECIPIENT: St. Mary's School AMOUNT: $1000 DESCRIPTION: The garden is a great addition to our Science curriculum, where the kids learn what plants need to grow and thrive. They are responsible for testing the PH of the water and how many parts per millions of nutrients are in the water for the plants and documenting these things on a weekly basis. The Hydroponic garden not only benefits the learning in the classroom but the school and community as a whole. October 2022 - $1000 Some of the grant for the Tomahawk Public School District Library's program "Enriching Lives" went towards purchasing fleece to make tie blankets, which were donated to the Lincoln County Humane society.
The members of the Four Rivers Quilt Guild, Tomahawk, WI, wish to thank the Star Foundation for the September 2022 Award. The generous award of $450.00 allowed the Four Rivers Quilt Guild to continue to give to our community partners. With the award, we were able to purchase necessary supplies to sew quilts, children’s bags and critters, walker bags, catheter bags, and fidget blankets. Other supplies purchased were labels to sew onto donations, a storage container, and an endorsement stamp for the Guild.
