April 2023 - $1000 The STAR Foundation contributed to the purchase of a laser engraver for the Elementary School. Students will be able to use the laser engraver through their elementary years. This machine will be able to continue to be an asset for many years as the students continue through the STEM program. As the students continue to develop their design skills, they will be able to become more independent with the designing and creating on the laser engraver. BC&C – StoryWalk at Tomahawk School

DATE: 2023RECIPIENT: Tomahawk School LibraryAMOUNT: $500DESCRIPTION: A StoryWalk® literally combines a story and a walk. It is a way to combine physical activity with literacy. Pages from a book are converted into signs that are laid out around a park or along a trail. This grant was used to purchase additional books for use with the installed StoryWalk on the Tomahawk School District playground.

BC&C – Hydroponic Garden

DATE: 2023 RECIPIENT: St. Mary's School AMOUNT: $1000 DESCRIPTION: The garden is a great addition to our Science curriculum, where the kids learn what plants need to grow and thrive. They are responsible for testing the PH of the water and how many parts per millions of nutrients are in the water for the plants and documenting these things on a weekly basis. The Hydroponic garden not only benefits the learning in the classroom but the school and community as a whole. Each harvest produces 20 plus pounds of fresh lettuce and greens for our school lunch program every month.…

BC&C – Enriching Lives / Cribbage

March 2022 - Tomahawk School District's Librarian Paula Norman submitted a grant for the new Enriching Lives program at the schools. With the money, she purchased supplies for multiple projects, including Cribbage. Some cribbage boards are even being made by our very own students in the community and plan to be put into use just after spring break.

BC&C – Enriching Lives / Sewing

March 2022 - Tomahawk School District's Librarian Paula Norman submitted a grant for the new Enriching Lives program at the schools. With the money, she purchased supplies for multiple projects, including sewing. The sewing part of Enriching Lives has been such a hit for the kids already! There are 50 kids at the Elementary school wanting to learn to sew and 13 in the Middle school!

BC&C – Tomahawk Schools Art & Music Kits

September 2020 - These kits supply each student with their personal sound sources and manipulatives. The music kits were packaged by teachers and aides so they were ready for our students. The students really enjoy them!

BC&C – Tomahawk Schools Culinary

January 2020 - Thanks to the Tomahawk Star Foundation - Beyond Crayons and Chromebook grant, students put on their baker's hats and made holiday haystacks, chocolate sandwich cookie truffles, and rice cereal porcupine treats!
