BC&C – Hydroponic Garden

DATE: 2023 RECIPIENT: St. Mary's School AMOUNT: $1000 DESCRIPTION: The garden is a great addition to our Science curriculum, where the kids learn what plants need to grow and thrive. They are responsible for testing the PH of the water and how many parts per millions of nutrients are in the water for the plants and documenting these things on a weekly basis. The Hydroponic garden not only benefits the learning in the classroom but the school and community as a whole. Four Rivers Quilt Guild

The members of the Four Rivers Quilt Guild, Tomahawk, WI, wish to thank the Star Foundation for the September 2022 Award. The generous award of $450.00 allowed the Four Rivers Quilt Guild to continue to give to our community partners. With the award, we were able to purchase necessary supplies to sew quilts, children’s bags and critters, walker bags, catheter bags, and fidget blankets. Other supplies purchased were labels to sew onto donations, a storage container, and an endorsement stamp for the Guild. BC&C – Enriching Lives / Cribbage

March 2022 - Tomahawk School District's Librarian Paula Norman submitted a grant for the new Enriching Lives program at the schools. With the money, she purchased supplies for multiple projects, including Cribbage. Some cribbage boards are even being made by our very own students in the community and plan to be put into use just after spring break.

BC&C – Enriching Lives / Sewing

March 2022 - Tomahawk School District's Librarian Paula Norman submitted a grant for the new Enriching Lives program at the schools. With the money, she purchased supplies for multiple projects, including sewing. The sewing part of Enriching Lives has been such a hit for the kids already! There are 50 kids at the Elementary school wanting to learn to sew and 13 in the Middle school!

Tomahawk Senior Center

WaWui Ice Arena Rink Mats

December 2020 - Tomahawk STAR Foundation was happy to give WaWui a $5,000 grant to go towards their new interlocking rink mats. These mats will help protect the kids skates so they can maneuver through the rink. The new mats can be sanitized to keep the rink safe as well. WaWui, Tomahawk Hockey Association, Tomahawk Figure Skaters and Cerny’s Greenhouse matched the grant so the project could be completed.
